Impossible to efile.

I never want to do this again. After multiple successful years, every time I tried to efile I got a bad gateway message. The software says that I havent' filed, but I did get an email saying the IRS had accepted my return. No link to pay. And, frankly, the help isn't what it used to be. I did struggle with a couple portions of my return and had to google outside help. Never again.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to fill out tax form; very poor filing proces

Completed tax forms with a few errors and used the correction process prior to electronically filing.
E-filing process was exceptionally poor. I kept getting a "Bad Gateway" error code that indicated the problem may be my connection or a server problem on H&R Block's end. No info from H&R Block regarding problems on their end.
I then got an e-mail (6 hrs later) that stated my return was submitted. Six minutes later I got a message stating my return was accepted by the IRS. Meanwhile, I continued trying to submit my return as I was still getting the "Bad Gateway" error code. And the software had automatically saved each submitted return over the original submission, so the H&R Block status show I still have to file my return.
Has the IRS truly accepted my return? I don't know as the IRS tracking website shows no record of my return (but they state that may take 21 days). So to be on the safe side, I will mail my return.
Turbo Tax next year. No more H&R Block.

Love the Interview to keep me from overlooking important information. Also like the elimination of number crunching and ease of review after letting the application enter data on the forms for me.
I’ve used this software for many years. Never had so many updates as this year. A little more help in parts of the business software would have helped. Some terminology was hard to find help on. A bit more costly.

Bad Gateway During Electronic Filing

Two stars reflects the execution of the electronic filing, not the actual software/workflow/results.
Today is filing day. We have a choice to complete an electronic filing/payment to the IRS through the app -or- print, sign, pay, mail via Registered Receipt with the USPS. Personally, I prefer the convenience of electronic filing.
For those of you still reading this, a Bad Gateway is a response from web servers when there is a misconfiguration on the server side. A service provider like H&R Block can have several hundred web servers running to handle the demand of thousands of customers filing on tax day.
They missed the mark this year. They were unprepared to handle the volume of filers.
Though I received this message on numerous occasions, I did received emails notifying me that the electronic filing was successfully sent AND that the IRS had accepted the filing. I'm unable to check the status as the locally installed app never received the confirmation.
Now I'm left having to check with our bank to ensure that payment is actually made to the IRS. It would have been easier to print and mail the return.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

DEADLINE FILING ISSUES

Can't efile the return. Bad gateway error, no error last week when I filed another return, no error last month when I filed business return. Thanks HR Block. I'll be mailing my return no thanks to this crap program.

I have had nothing but trouble with this program, from downloading it to filing my taxes, very unhappy with it.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

I bought this since it was less expensive than the competing program I used last year. I have two concerns. First, the print function did not work correctly with my Canon printer. I had to work around the lack of print capability. Second, the program did not provide the support for next year's quarterly tax payments which I had to do outside of the program. Next year, I will likely pay extra for the competing program.
