The product is good but often not compatible with changes with Microsoft. I always have difficulty uploading the prior year's returns. Their is a a challenge with electronically filing the State taxes and I often have to print and mail.
I used HR Block software for years, but no longer. They dropped support for CARES act forms (which was supported last year) and only solution offered by them is to file in-person, which defeats the purpose of tax software!! No refund for the software price paid either! Waste of cash. The small business tax software has less than zero documentation and really has no guidance like the personal tax software has. You pretty much need to be a CPA in order to use this correctly. Software gets 2 stars because it used to be good, that is the only thing saving it from 1 star.
I like the product, but a little miffed that in 2020, my daughter went off my health insurance (Obama care). As a result, the Obama care form, I think it's F1095 that lists every month's payments were not uniform. When that happened, I was no longer able to file electronically. I still can't, and now the IRS still hasn't processed my 2020 or 2021 tax returns. So yes, I'm a little miffed. I would use stronger language, but your software won't let me.
I've used H&R Block tax software for several years now. I've always been able to pay a fair price for it and it has mostly lived up to its promise of the largest refund coming to me. I say mostly because this year the refund amount the program had me file was refuted by the IRS even though it appeared to follow the exact steps for figuring out the child tax credit. The child tax credit this year seems to have caused issues with the program as early on the program tried to say I didn't qualify due to marriage or divorce even though I have never been married and the child was a foster child.
