I am Trustee for a large estate. Premium & Business walked me through the tax process and was able to answer several nagging questions. This is my second year using this and Block's similar product last year
Called 4 times to report an error in your Business software. The worksheet calculation from the capital gains is doubling the data on the capital gains form. Causes errors in K1s. Was initially told it was a known error and would be fixed by February 1. Not. Then never got another bit of help. So when all those customers who don't know to override the doubling field will be sending K1s and other Capital Gains reports to their clients or family. Now it is the end of March and a known error remains.
I think the personal portion of the tax software is great....but the business portion is really lacking. I am a CPA that has been doing taxes for 30 years, and even with my vast tax experience, find this business software package challenging to use. It is not very user friendly and lacks in providing adequate explanations.
I am a repeat customer for the Premium version but this was my first trial of the Business version. I found it somewhat difficult to navigate. The software also seemed to have some bugs -- for example, it would print out multiple copies of the federal filing instruction sheets, and some of those copies had gibberish in critical areas Also, when printing, the "preview" window did not match what was actually printed.
