I have been buying H&R Block software ever since I started doing the taxes myself. It makes it so easy to file. Everything is laid out well, and the help files are very helpful.

Reasonably scrupulous in identifying deductions

I think the product is reasonably scrupulous in finding and explaining potential deductions, but it is not especially intuitive if you are preparing your forms piecemeal and not following the interview step by step. There are useful features that I did not discover until my return was nearly complete, and there are impediments to moving between the forms and interview that seem unnecessary.

Software provides quick easy to use screens with just the right number of navigational prompts. Access to forms is quick and easy as well. Information help could use some improvements. Generally, the information provided when searching how to do something is vague and uninformative. This year I was looking to calculate the basis on my sons ESA account and had to refer to the rather challenging to read IRS form information. If that could be interpreted and added to the help text that would be a first amongst tax software for the general public. Overall, still a solid product at a reasonable price. Thank you
