I have used this app for years. Mysteriously, this year it made me fill out a separate worksheet/spreadsheet completely outside of the program to determine if I would need to pay any SC state tax. Why can't the app figure this out?
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am very pleased with the extent of capabilities that H&R Block tax software provides. I was able to complete a relatively complex return that included capital gains on property that I sold. The questions are great at making the filer think about income and deductions that otherwise might be missed. The best part is that the filer can go back and change an item and it ripples through the 1040 as well as state returns.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Time consuming

I found a couple of odd glitches. I was asked if my husband filed last year and then to enter his AGI. It was a joint return??? In errors, I repeatedly had to verify an entry of zero. Didn't have these issues with previous years. I also didn't feel enough support was given to capital gains.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
