Your program gave me a e-file rejection code of 32-FD-IND-344. There is no IRS rejection code that comes close to this. The program's response was to check entries and mail the return. Is that really the best you can do ?
I bought this program for tax guidance, not to assist with simple computations. The way your HSA form is auto generated cost my over $2000 in lost refunds this year and last. I have to now start the amended return process and file mostly by hand anyway.
As HSAs become more and more common, I am positive there are people missing out on higher refunds because of your software. It is not legally required for a company to report HSA payroll deductions in box 1 on a W2, software should do better at asking for details when HSA funds are entered via W2 and allow modification without an override.
Very hard to navigate. I had to call on my internet service to see if they could load the State program for me, They couldn't. I had to pay to file my State tax. I had all ready replaced the product once. I couldn't even get it to update for me. My internet service had to do it for me.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare, Hard to install, Hard to import
Have used H &R block for years, this is the first year software didn't pull state taxes, on paperwork, showed on section, but didn't put on form, alright sent Fed and state. Not happy!!!!! did 4 taxes wrong and only 1 correct. will never use this again.
I have received a letter from the Louisiana Department of Review adjustment to the tax due based on incorrectly filed information. Now there is no one to talk to about the mess caused by this error.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import
I have used H&R Block tax software for several years and have been quite happy with it. However, this year, that is not the case. There is a BUG that affects a minister who worked at more than one church (and got a housing allowance from more than one church) during 2017. The Clergy Worksheet 1 only takes into account the housing allowance entered in the interview section (along with actual expenses + utilities as well as Fair Rental Value) of the LAST W-2 entered. This completely screws up other calculations throughout the entire tax return including an incorrect Self-Employment Tax calculation. Luckily I noticed this after printing my return and looking at the Clergy Worksheet 1. I had to spend a lot of time trying to figure out what was going on and how to make changes so that my tax return came out correctly. If I hadn't noticed the error, I would have owed the IRS over $1000.
Unfortunately I was not satisfied with the HR product this year. 1) Claiming rental expenses with income bewteen $100-150K, the program did not show or explain how the total was produced. I had to research tax code. 2) can not get the program to provide filing update for the federal, it just keeps showing the state. 3) Use to avoid mailing in tax return but then when I finish my LA state return I find out I have to mail in documents anyway. Should know this before you make me purchase the e-file. Much of the program just provided input and output, no explaination of how the output was derived.
