The first of two returns we tried to file was rejected by the IRS, but the reason given by HRB made no sense. We prepared the same return using Lacerte and it was accepted. We still don't know what went wrong with the HRB software. Hopefully the 2nd return we need to do will have a better result. We have been using it for 8 years, and it has always worked for return #2, but didn't work for return #1 the two times we tried it.

When I am presented with a verification item, there are no instructions as to what needs to be fixed. This year I had a number that was highlighted. No instructions as to what I needed to do with/about that number. No explanation at all. Frustrating.

Overall a decent program. Filed both my federal and state taxes electronically with ease. The only thing I noticed this year, as opposed to other years is that I wasn't notified by email that my submission was either accepted or rejected. Other than that, a very comprehensive program that I have been trusting for many years.

Have been using H&R Block Software for a dozen years. It is easy to load, updates as needed and it is easy and intuitive to use. I especially like the "take me to" feature for further explanations and the tax code to find answers to all of those can I deduct/claim this.
