Terrible programming, every year it has more bugs

I’ve done my own taxes for years, and am very experienced at it. The past few years I’ve been using HR Block, and EVERY year I find defects in it. This year it was the energy credit form (5695), which produced different figures every time I ran it, and the 1099-R worksheet, which refused to acknowledge that part of my 1099-R was not taxable. I was forced to override HRB’s numbers in those forms. Worse, when I went to file I had to wait for an update to the vehicle depreciation worksheet - a deduction I didn’t even take! Previous years of this software have had issues too, and I learned to ALWAYS check each form before filing. This is the LAST year I will be using HR Block.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used at least since 2018 and it makes me feel sure that my taxes are entered and figured accurately. The only improvement would be a consumption tax so that productivity was not taxed but that is not your problem.
