I have been using H&R Block software for tax returns for the last 9 years, including multi-state and rental income returns. It was easy to use and has met all my needs. Highly reccommended.
I have a pretty complex return, with both a joint Federal return including long and short term capital gains, a loss carry forward, both qualified and non qualified dividends, investments that became worthless, etc. In addition, our state return works out better filing separately with itemized deductions. The software handled all this very well, but I had to figure out how to do it. I bought Block rather than a competitor because of the personal assistance if I were audited and the general help in using the program that it offered. It seemed more difficult than I expected . Of course two or three months have passed and my memory may be fuzzy on the details
The software talks you thru all important sections and keeps up to date with all new tax law changes. You also get free filings and your state tax return software as well.
