I've used H&R Block software for years. While I'm not a fan of doing taxes, using this program definitely makes it less cumbersome. The help feature lays out the tax laws in easily digestible lingo instead of how the IRS attempts to explain it in the guides. Although it's easy to use, I do have to override some fields that are too complex for the software. I also would like to have more "one off" forms like Form 709 (Gift Tax & GST) available instead of having to download it from the IRS and manually fill it out. Regardless, I'll continue to use H&R Block every year.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

The best part is they download data from financial institutions so you don’t have to enter trades, dividends, interest by hand. Unless you pay state/local tax and have us gvmnt interest , then it’s a pain to calculate state exempt interest. Also super big pain if you have to override something because it doesn’t do something correctly.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
