While H&R Block has a web based product, it is significantly more expensive than the downloaded product. With where we are with technology, it is cheaper and more cost effective to utilize a web based program than a downloaded pc/mac based program. Get with the times and offer the web version at an appropriate costs compared to the local installatin.

Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

This program is generally very good and available at a good price. The problem I had was in entering my QCD's from an inherited IRA by having to use a workaround of choosing a first option of "I inherited from my spouse and I am treating it as my own'- which was not correct. This was the H&RB recommended way to allow me to get the necessary "QCD" inserted by line 4b on my 1040-SR. This has been a known problem and I am disappointed it was still so.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming

I've been using this for several years and find it to be the best tax program I've used. The interview format is easy and thorough but you can delve into detailed explanations and irs forms that cover every sitation. The ability to import data from a ton of financial institutions and employers as well as bringing forward past year values is exceptional. But most important to me is my data is kept private on my computer.

I have used H&R Block software for years. All was well until I tried to file on April 14th (maybe the 15th). The software said the return was not accepted, when in fact it was accepted. That would be fine, but I discovered an error after filing & I want to do an amended return. But I can't use the software to do this because I haven't filed the return accourding to H&R BLock. Now I manually need to do it.
I would recommend this to a friend!
