So many services have moved to web-only. I don't trust them with all of my financial data, so it's nice to still have the option to download tax software for use on my private computer.

I don’t think it could have been worse. They never got forms right, they had forms loaded just before the deadline and they completely abandoned some federal forms altogether. Have trusted this software for over 20 years but no more.

Though it remains the emminent tax software it is criminal that the tax code is so convoluted that you must spend days and dollars to this extreme in order to "do your taxes." While the tax code is not Block's fault, I have noticed a trend towards requiring contact with Block to finish the process each year since '21. With Block's control of the citizen side process, they should be lobying for a simplified methodology of returning the same final results.
