I've been using the h&r block software package for years now and this year I thought I would have to go to an accountant but I decided to do it on my own again and it did take a while to accomplish but I paid my taxes that were due and haven't heard back from anyone so it's all good I guess!

Program is fine, but some glitch prevented me from being able to file taxes online; Federal and State. I had to scramble at the last minute to print all the forms and mail in to meet the deadline. I'm still going to recommend the product because I think the software is good, but we were offered a minimal 20% off the 2024 tax software as compensation. That's not enough and the error/glitch was HUGE!!!
Pros: Easy to prepare

I’ve been using HR Block for our taxes for many years. It looks like 2023 will be my last. For the 3rd year in a row I’ve gotten a letter from either fed or state that I had to pay more after filing my taxes. This year was a most important year because my husband past away in 2023 and I was really counting on HR Blick software to help me through the filing of taxes with his information for the last time. And when I was done and ready to e-file the software said it couldn’t e-file state (IN) because I was filing for a deceased person. And that I’d need to print and send. Huge pain! Then when e-filing the Federal it never finished- kept “spinning”. So I was not able to go back in and check the status because according to the software I hadn’t sent them yet. However, I did get a confirmation email saying they had been accepted. So, thank you for the memories but I’ll be moving on to a more useful program next tax season.

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
