I’ve been using H&R Block and it’s predecessor for over 20 years. I’ve tried others, and in my opinion this is the best. However, some instructions and interviews are still lacking.
Find the premium + state version extremely useful. I volunteer as a tax consultant thru a nonprofit and use another software product. H&R Block provides more functionality and is easy to navigate.
Deluxe version was supposed to link to financial institutions but did not. Supposedly escalated but week later advised that they didn’t and process started over. Long story short. 4 contacts and never escalated or resolved.
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used H&R Block premium software for more than 10 years. Very easy to use and walks one through many various life changes. Small, but nerve racking, issue with e-file not available from 7 pm on the 14th until around 3:30 pm on the 15th. Could have been handled better with a blast email to registered users re the problem and/or quicker notification on the program itself. Still will use it again as this is the only issue in more than 10 years.
