You can't have a tax prep software package that blocks you from submitting your return on the night before Tax Day though mid-afternoon on Tax Day itself. After numerous failed attempts to e-file, I spent half the day on April 15 printing and prepping to hand-mail my return materials, before the site eventually accepted my return.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I recently switched to HRB after using TT for the last two decades. The main reason for the switch was the cost. Additionally, I was concerned about potentially missing out on tax deductions and the ease of use of other products. One lesson I learned is that people are often hesitant to change from something they are comfortable with, even if they are paying more for it. However, once they take the bold step of switching, they realize what they were missing.
The transition from TT to HRB was very smooth. Everything from my 2022 tax return transferred seamlessly. HRB also offers flawless importing of data from any source, including banks and brokerage houses. Although the interface initially appeared different from what I was used to with TT, I quickly realized that some of the pull-down menus are very intuitive and easy to use after using them a few times. Additionally, the application loads very quickly and securely.

This product is better than most, but still have some issues, especially for state program. For example, there's no place for me to tell the state program that some of my interest income is state tax exempted.

Software is good as usual. Very unhappy of e-file

Have been using the software for over 10 years since switched from TurboTax. Software is as good as usual. However, due to the issue of the e-file on April 14 (your site was down), I had to print and mail with a check to make sure I filed in time. This is un-acceptable and will switch back to TurboTax next year.
