The federal program was great but I was really disappointed in the state program for Michigan. I sold a second home out of state and the software did not have forms needed to complete my return. I had to download forms from the State of Michigan website and complete them manually and transfer the information to the software. Consequently, I was not able to file the state return electronically. Very disappointing!
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve used theirs product for many years and mostly understand its ins and outs. Over the years, the company has become more greedy as to what it gives for the price. They may look for a different service next year, not sure.
My biggest complaint about the program is that it will occasionally say “go to IRS form $&@/ and figure this part out yourself.” Why aren’t those forms plugged up into the program? Shouldn’t I be able to trust the software to figure it out for me based on my entries? Also, why does it ask questions most people can’t answer (like, do you want to use this method or that?) I don’t know! I don’t know the difference. Guide me and explain in clear and plain language. What happens if I do this? What happens if I do that?
Am extra charge for state filing is also ridiculous.
What I like is the familiarity year after year and the simple entry.
Last comment is the ridiculousness of trying to submit this form.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Hard to prepare

It might have been great if it wasn’t a complete failure on 15 April. After e-file federal was rejected time and time again I went online with IRS and filed for an extension, paying the amount your program said I owed. Then(!!) I see e-mail the my 1040 had been accepted?!? The program still reports that I had not yet e-filed.
At this point I really have no idea what my filing status is but I see that IRS has pulled money from my account for both your reported acceptance of my 1040 and for my filing for the extension. The program still reports that I haven’t filed.
Abominable service this year and I have no idea if I will get my extra payment back. It was not a small number this year, nearly $5000.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Program unable to specifically modify and/or remove K-1 data once entered the first time. Carries over to state firm as well...miserable experience that greatly increases my filing hassle, stress and time required. When importing , program should allow option for individually accepting/declining each portion of the import
