I "feel" the program is very functional. I have been using it y\for years which makes it MUCH easier to navigate. Live help seems to be a farce and the crazy high price fo the second state is discouraging. Software help has not helped much ex. trying to move old returns onto a new computer and version of Block. SO as I said I have no experience with other programs so i "don't know any better."
Excellent federal return procedures. However this years state return add on is not working smoothly. It does not allow e filing if there are requirements to attach files to the return.
purchased the software online, I thought is came with one State software for free, but it did not, so next year I will purchase it again at the store. I liked that i could import documents, very easy to use. But it didn't have all of my documents to download. Maybe see about expanding the data base.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We had used an accountant for years, but he retired. So did I, and our taxes are much simpler, so I bought this software. It was fairly straightforward. I would use it again.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

Using the software was as useful as usual. Not too difficult to complete it. I submitted the returns electronically on Saturday before they were due. I got confirmation that Federal was accepted that evening but was still waiting on the State. I got an email that the State was accepted, but kept getting "Gateway error" messages in the software on Sunday and Monday. It wouldn't proceed to print out the paperwork necessary to mail my payments. I finally figured out how to print the entire return for my "records" and managed to pull the pages I needed to mail and the instructions. Very frustrating.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So much less expensive than TurboTax and got the job done with only one glitch. Unfortunately, my brokerage limits their uploads to TurboTax only, thus I may have to switch software next year.
