Hi, I've been using HR Block Premium for a LONG time (decades). I am a Mac user and it's the highest level version you offer for the Mac. I noticed some features are not very user friendly and especially buggy.
My investments are with Fidelity and each year, the import feature wants me to review the import. That's fine BUT it doesn't ever seem to note that I've actually reviewed. It always warns me - even though I've reviewed.
Secondly, I have a few K1 issuing investments. Often I simply see HR tell me that the code isn't supported and/or I need to review the instructions or confirm with a CPA. This makes me feel like there's little to no benefit to using HR Block.
Lastly, I have rental property that I switched to living in - and there's no real way to clearly handle this use case. I want to claim it as a primary residence YET not lose track of the historical basis (ie depreciation taken). I previously was a huge fan but this year I quickly reviewed TurboTax online and it seems to be more user friendly and support more use cases than HR Block.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This version of H&R Block software performed the basic tax returns tasks well. However, much more detail is needed for schedule C completion to ensure the most optimal tax benefit. Also, Graduate student stipend taxability is not well covered, leading to uncertainty of the accuracy of the tax return.
