No iBond support for refunds

Does not provide support for Form 8888 to use up to $5000 of my return for the paper iBond. I will change software if not included for 2023, after many years with H&R Block

Working on Mac

I have been using H&R Block software since 20 years or so. However, since 2021, I am having a very bad experience with the software since I have the software on Mac. I did report the problem for 2021 too. The problem became worse for 2022. The problem is I cannot enter data using interview. After I enter any data, the program crashes. I had to use the form for every entry. it is very painful and error prone. I had reported this problem again in sometime back in November 2021 for 2022 return. The worse situation is when we enter the bank details, there is no form for that. My daughter used web version and it trapped her to use tax-pro service and they are absolutely irresponsible. I do plan to change software next year onwards.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

I am comfortable with the software and like the prompts and question as a guide. However there needs to be better logic or coding regarding state taxes, nit all states have a tax but at end it asks for validation.
I would recommend this to a friend!

State return issues

I bought the software because my mom was an HR Block seasonal preparer and with Turbo Tax state return issues I thought I’d try it, same issue with your software. You claim that it comes with 1 free state efile but once you get to the end it wants credit card info and there isn’t a way to bypass it to get to a place where you can submit it without paying. On top of having to download the state software 5 times after you complete the federal otherwise it won’t download then you have to shut down several times for the state and federal to recognize each other, called customer service 5 times got disconnected and never got through to anyone

FLAW IN PROGRAM

I've used HR for decades. No real issues previously. The 2022 edition has a serious flaw. We require three schedule Cs. When we deleted one, every number in the two other Cs scrambled the numbers. 1099Ks, 1099 Misc were suddenly listed in the wrong company! Fortunately we caught it before filing. So very disappointed in the extra hours of work to put all the numbers back in the proper companies.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

H&R Block tax software shines bright, once again!

I've used H&R Block tax prep software for a number of years with mostly excellent success. I've tried other brands before, and am familiar with income tax return preparation in general. I know how hard it is to get it right, and H&R Premium does just that!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not good if you have bad eyesight..

I have very bad eyesight. This software does not respond properly to my touch screen. When I would try to enlarge a screen part of it would disappear to the right. Even on my 27 monitor the boxes and other items to check or select were very small. I had to use a hand magnifier when entering data. This made entry of data extremely slow!
If you do not have my problems, I think that most people would find it fairly easy to use after you have gone through a few screens and see how to use it.
It does a good job making sure you report all taxable income and take advantage of all the legal deductions. Therefore, I can recommend this software.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!
