Fantastic Doucmentation and Help Features

For years my daughter has used H-R Block home use programs and because of need to take a solar energy credit on both federal and state returns, I decided to try H-R Block for 2020. Although there were some problems with the importation of data from 2021 returns created under the previous vendor's product, aided by the H-R Block extensive documentation these were user correctable. The H-R Block program even found two errors in the 2021 return that did matter because the standard deduction was taken. Once all differences of formatting were reconciled, everything proceeded smoothly.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming

Program randomly and without warning deletes data.

TID's and some addresses get deleted. Has this program been tested? Did I buy a beta version?
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love the FAQ features to practically each of the interview questions. Although right at the end when one is going to e-file one's taxes, there is a button to push that says "Your return will now be transmitted to the IRS". There should be an FAQ or note that says that the ability to UPLOAD any additional documents will be available AFTER you push that button. It was very scary to push it not knowing this for sure because of course after your files are transmitted there is no turning back. Please ADD THIS IMPORTANT NOTE!

Problem with activation code. Was rejected as been used 5 times. Talking to software specialist Peaches, it was straightened out quickly.

Easily Handles Complex Tax Issues

Most helpful features are importation of previous year's data and importation of dividends, interest, and capital gains. Areas that need improvement are itemized lists that don't provide association with specific entries, a "Planning" section that is unclear and difficult to use, and no way to do state tax planning or print state estimated tax forms.
