I compared H&R Block with TurboTax many years ago and found that I liked H&R Block the best. I did my taxes manually, using H&R Block, and Turbo Tax. H&R Block agreed with my manual results and showed me owing less taxes than Turbo Tax so I have used H&R Block ever since. I have more confidence in H&R Block.

The software crashes often, so make sure you save your work often. I lost work several times. It's not fun to have to re-enter information. Also I find it hard to find different sections when I need to go back and check something.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I really liked this software when comparing to the normal online tool. It is easy to navigate and understand what you need. It has more nuance than the standard online version, which is very helpful if you have any complications in your return but still want to do it yourself. I also think it is a decent value given everything it provides.
