Moving around in the software to get to a particular topic is a little clunky. I do my own, my sister's and my daughter's taxes. It takes me a day or two to get the returns filed (Only one state return in the mix). IRA contributions, Schedule C, investment gains and losses, but not very complicated returns.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

I have used H&R Tax Cut software for more than 30 years and have found it has always be a solid product. I particularly appreciate the improvements made each year that make the filing of my tax returns less and less of a chore. I have never been questioned by the IRS for my returns except for asking for some additional data occasionally.

Medocore User Interface/Validation Flow Problems

The user interface isn't very user-friendly, although at least it renders on a 4K monitor finally. The verification passed until I tried to file and then it caught them. It should have caught them the first time around. The Missouri form is worse. Not even basic data validation at user-entry time.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've used their software for years. Don't know how they compare to others, as never used others. But I've been happy with the price and capabilities of the premium product in helping me produce my lengthy and multi-faceted returns.
