I have been using this tax preparation software since first became available (under a different name) many years ago. I find it intuitive, easy to use and easy to understand. The interview questions are easy to follow and through the years the developers have removed a lot of unnecessary videos and demonstrations which used to take a lot of time. I have some complexity on my taxes because I’m self employed, yet I feel confident that my return is complete and accurate and it takes me about 4 hours to complete it. I can probably cut that time by at least one hour if I could find my documentation faster. Even when I’m well organized, the software will prompt me to a new deduction or a new qualify expense and I need to go find receipts etc. Again I finish my taxes including lots of schedules, including schedule C and self employment tax, in one afternoon, and I’m confident that my return is accurate and that I pay the eight amount of taxes each time. I have my return checked by my CPA once, by having him do the return from scratch and then compare it with the one I prepare with the software and he agree that the one I did was more complete and accurate and reflected the right amount of taxes I owed. It also helps me to calculate my safe harbor, estimated tax payments for the following year so I won’t incur any penalties. I highly recommend this software package.

The product itself was very functional and user friendly.
Only had one issue, the key code for the free federal return did not work. Called tech support and the automated replacement code also did not work but after getting in touch with a customer service representative, I got a working code.

Software crashes constantly on MacBook. Doesn’t auto-save when it should. Auto read w2 is frequently wrong. Still, I do trust it in terms of calculations.

Easy program. Need to fix the accuracy check for W2 state error for WA. WA state does not have state income tax and the error comes up and expects values when there aren’t any. Hope this is fixes next year.
