Over the years my taxes have gone from complicated to less complicated. No matter how difficult the taxes are H&R Block software is easy to use with step by step questions and guides.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
Chronic problems with import of prior tax year, like including forms no longer pertinent, which are flagged and cause problems during Accuracy Review. 'LEARN' (help) popups are mostly useless, sometimes missing (terms not defined in some cases). Help phone line hijacked by phony promotion. Search function inconsistent, especially with respect to Form names (sometimes acronyms, sometimes not).
Seems to do an accurate job. I wish the state software included an e-file credit like the federal. Not cost effective to use the state when I can file on-line for free.
Simple to use. Having been using for years. Occasionally H&R Block Premium directs user to go to IRS website for a form because the software doesn't support it. Every few years I try the more widespread competition, but both seem comparable, so I've always come back to the more reasonably priced H&R Block products.

I have been using this product and its predecessor for nearly 2 decades. It is a great product, but when you have multiple states where you have to file taxes, there are issues. For example, you are limited in the number of state taxes you can submit in the federal section so if you have to pay more than 7 or 8 states' taxes, you cannot input that data. Similarly, there are only so many entries allotted inputs for the payment of estimated taxes-- I believe you can only enter about 10.
