Simple to use and leads thru the forms step by step. I have a rental property and filing expenses and what can be expensed versus what is depreciable is very helpful. The final check list function has helped me correct unintended errors quickly and easily. A misplaced minor W-2 was found after filing but I was able file an amended return with ease. I am detailed and organized but don’t believe I could do this on my own without mistakes or anxiety over technical errors.
Some sections too simplified like the 1098-TCollege deductions. I had to go to the IRS forms and read through them to understand the question the H&R software was asking. I tried to search the H&R "Help" section to no avail. Help section not much help for my questions. Must want to sell you on the 'pay for help' they offer by making a useless help section. It is good if you have complex investments. You can connect to your investment company's website and download your info and have it place on the IRS forms.
I have used this software for the past eight years without any problems. My wife is a self employed contractor which requires several steps and form to be accomplished from the typical joint filer portfolio.
