Decent SW, but doesn't handle exceptions well.

this is the 2nd time in 4 years that I've had to submit via efile and then print and amend the return due to nuances not covered in the SW. First it was the EV tax credit, and this time it was handling of overpayment on an IRA account.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve used H&R Block Tax software for many years and find it clear and easy to use. It takes the choir out of doing my taxes. It keeps me from forgetting things. Filing online is simple and easy and so much better than printing, filing and mailing paper returns. I’ve never had a problem with the software. Before H&R Block tax software I used to hate doing taxes. But I actually find this fun.

Overall it gets the job done.
Cons: 1) Cannot change font size on desktop (Mac) version. Frustrating. 2) Cannot go from form to interview question. I want to know how an entry in the form was calculated.

The software has a consistent look and feel from year to year. It also retains and imports information from previous years and also from reporting organizations. Straight forward transitions from one segment to the next make tax preparation seemless. Also, processes for complex financial transactions are handled accurately and efficiently.
