Very good tax prep software. Used it for several years. We have investments and rental property and this does the job. Better features for tracing back how numbers in the tax forms were arrived at would be nice.

I've been using H&R Block for 3 years and it works fine, but it has confusing and inconsistent user interface design.
Many of the question dialogs are concise and easy to understand, but some of the dialogs are long and overwhelming. These areas can be especially confusing for beginner users. The worst ones are the long lists of checkbox options. They should really be split into multiple dialogs or partially hidden away, especially for users with straightforward tax situations.
Navigating back through the interview for corrections and/or reviews can also be confusing. The interface doesn't constantly show where you are in the interview, so it's possible to lose track. H&R Block should really overhaul their desktop user interface with better interview flow and constant useful feedback to the user.
Other than that, if you slowly and carefully navigate through H&R Block, you'll come out the other side with correct tax forms. I've yet to encounter serious tax errors.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

I have been using H&R Block premium for over 10 years. This is the best software if you have multiple streams of income (rental property, W2 job, side business). It walks you through the entire filing and is extremely easy to navigate. I will never use any other software!!

I can't compare it to any others. I have been using it for years and on several occasions found that the program made errors. Some simple math and others where it just filled out the form wrong. The IRS caught these and sent me what they found. In another case the fault was mine, I had not reported 1099's that I had not received. I used your program to update my return. The amount it determined I owed was more than the IRS calculated.

Not sure what is going on. I submitted my tax return and your program said all was good and still having problems getting my +$800 refund. I had 5 licenses and used one of one of my coworkers and they are having the same trouble and were supposed to get a + $1400 refund. Not sure what is going on. Is there a problem with your program?
