I've been using H & Block software for many years. I had tried others for comparison, but found it to be the easiest, most accurate, and one that covered for my specific circumstances... self-employed and own rental property.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Compared to its competitors, H&R Block tax software continues to be the most user-friendly. The organization of the interview, the phrasing of the items, and the linking to additional resources keep me coming back to Block. The cost-advantage is largely gone now, however, as prices continue to increase incrementally, and I had an experience a year ago when the Block software couldn't handle the input of all of my data from a K-1 for a publicly-traded limited partnership. That was a major problem, required me to file on paper, and dumped my return into a box somewhere at the IRS in the far Midwest where it sat for a year. This year Block handled all of my PLP data. To think that, years ago, I twice paid accounting firms hundreds of dollars to prepare my tax returns! We've come a long way.
We have been using H&R Block Tax Software for a number of years now. It's not only easy to use, but complete and accurate. Especially after using it the first year, it will migrate your previous year's pertinent information to the current year. It remembers how you filed in previous years and asks you all the right questions. We have never had a problem with the software and its accuracy and acceptance by both Federal and State.
