I needed the self-employed ability and for the price it is a good deal.

Somewhat easy to use

Filing more than one State Tax return is expensive. Love the thoroughness of the soft ware.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to install

Great, but I have a recommendation

I liked the product a lot, however I had two issues.
1) If I accidentally clicked a box that would populate a form/worksheet for me I didn’t need, it was difficult to pinpoint which document that was to delete it. If a document has no entries on it, it might be safe to just auto-delete the document so it doesn’t pop up with errors.
2) When I did have errors, it was hard to find the walkthrough page that pertained to the error. Instead of overriding an entry, it would be nice to have a link that would take you directly to the corresponding walkthrough page for the error.
3) Also, there’s a lot of garbage advice on the Internet. Even with the help/advice you guys provided along the way, I still had questions. Maybe a reference link to a page on the IRS website might help people put in the correct numbers.
These fixes will definitely make customers happier in future versions. If you guys like my feedback, please feel free to send me a kickback of some sort! ;)

Ok but still not great for Landlords

I am a landlord with multiple rental properties and have over 100 items in the depreciation worksheets. While the software imports data from prior year returns, EVERY YEAR it fails to carryforward the Depreciation type used. This is extremely annoying as you aren't permitted to change the type from year to year for an item resulting in a doubling of effort to go through each item, look up last year's return and make the correct selections.
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Two problems incountered

1. My federal return was rejected because of a data error on a form 1099-R. My program took me to the first 1099-R and highlighted the Payers Federal number. I wasted hours and a phone call thinking that the erro was there . I finnally found the problemon the 6th form 1099-R. can the program do better ?
2.I chose to print and mail my state of Illinois tax return. I had a balance due but the program did not provide a way to direct a debit to my bank routing and account numbers. It should do this rather tham making me fill in these fields.

The 1040 did pretty good until update hangup

This was a simple return. The 1040 did pretty good until update hangup. While trying to e-file the California State, it hung up. We probably should have sent a paper copy. E-file is just not ready for prime time yet.

Loved how easy it was to follow and great features

I decided to check out this Software and was greatly surprise. Love the help you can get while you are working on it and the overview at the end where you are notified if the Tax Return appears to be correct.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast
