THIS YEAR WAS AN EXCEPTION. i HAVE BEEN USING THIS SOFTWARE SINCE IT WAS TAX CUT AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SATISFIED WITH THE PROGRAM. UNTIL THIS YEAR 2020. tHIS YEAR WHEN I FILED THE SOFTWARE SAID MY FEDERAL RETURN HAD BEEN TRANSMITTED. WHEN i WENT TO CHECK THE RETURN STATUS FIVE DAYS LATER IT STATED THAT THE RETURN HAD NOT BEEN SUBMITTED YET. OUCH.

I think the software works pretty well for many parts of the tax forms, though more complex items still have to be done manually, which is unfortunate because their complexity makes the help of software all the more needed. Overall, for me the software was worth using for the time it saves.

I have used this software since it was Kiplingers TaxCut. The interview always covered everything I needed to be confident in my Taxes. This year was my first time to enter into a partnership. The interview didn’t cover some aspects of the schedule K1. And the online help was worthless. I had to go find a tax professional to check my work and explain it to me. In the end I had entered everything correctly, but if the interview had covered everything or there had been a way to get 5-10 minutes of assistance from an online assistant I wouldn’t have had to go to someone else. Makes me consider hiring a cpa. Never needed one before.
