I would recommend the H&R block software only because we have little choice in the matter. The US tax code is unnecessarily complicated and companies like this work hard to keep it this way. Why do they do this? So we have little choice but to buy their software. The software is good, easy to use and works for all the wrong reasons.

As usual the software design is pretty intuitive and easy to use. The worst part for me is making the corrections at the end in order to file. That is the most challenging part because you really have to understand the options and their impact on the success of filing an acceptable return.
