Great software every year!

I have used the H&R tax products for years and will continue to do so. I especially like the included tax professional chat option as my taxes are a bit complicated.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund

Great for simple returns

Could not efile because I had to manually enter data on Schedule E as instructed by the program. Manual data entry stops efile. State form required manual completion of passive activity loss limitation that was very confusing. Unable to import itemized charitable contributions from external file
Cons: Hard to fix issues, Hard to import

Premium Version used to be available online

Now I have to download it to use. The last few years I could log in online and use the software there. I have no interest downloading software onto my computer.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Priced Right and Easy to Install

I used Turbo Tax up until 3 years ago. I have used H&R Block since that time and I very pleased with the software program. It is easy to use and priced right.

Pretty good, fairly user friendly

This seems to be pretty good software that is pretty user friendly. There were a couple of places where it was not so user friendly. We had a little tax free bond income, and the software gave no help whatsoever as to whether it was taxable in our state (or where to go to find out if it was).
Cons: Hard to prepare
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to import

I was very nervous about filing . I have always used a tax accountant. This product took me step by step thru the process. It even showed me what I forgot to fill in.
It was a fourth of the cost of seeing an tax adviser.

Not very intuitive

I don't find this software very easy to maneuver with, plus they need to dumb down descriptions of what things are. If the software asks a question, the question should be obvious. If I want to talk to a helpdesk, that number should be handy.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to install
