I have been using this software solution for 10 years and it gets easier every year even though the rules and regulations for taxes gets tougher. Excellent solution especially during COVID-19.

Only issue I have with the software is, fixing errors when it does the error check. Not as clear as it should be on how to fix them. Otherwise, it is easy to use.

The problems that had been encountered last year have been resolved with the critical filing numbers being included. This years challenges of not having all of the exact data is related to this being all over these places directly related to the Med and Eco crisis this filing year 2020 .
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

I've used H&R Block for years, so I think it's okay. There is a potential problem, however, if you e-file your taxes. I did so this year and I had to submit payment information for filing state forms, then was advised that the program I had needed to be updated. I updated the program but then had to re-pay the filing fee for state taxes again. The sequence of those pages need to be reversed. Suggestion to any users: Update your version every time you log on to (hopefully) avoid having to pay twice due to the inappropriate sequencing of pages they have with e-filine.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Time consuming

The downloadable software for our state returns is not working properly. Fed government pensions are exempt from state taxes in our state if the payee was born before a certain year. My uncle was - well past that. The program keeps including ALL of his federal government pension in his taxable income and won't let me change it in the software.
I also cannot simply pull up a "preview" of the completed forms to review before filing, like with all other programs I've used. I figured I could better see what the problem was by reviewing the forms. I review them anyway before filing. Nope! Can't review them that way. You have to pretend to be printing them for mail filing, then review the pages in your printer preview. This is my first time using this software - I've spent a long time today looking for a way to do a simple review of completed forms. Garbage program. It will be faster for me to start from scratch with the program I normally use - vs. this one that my uncle wanted me to use - since his former tax preparer used it. If not for these two issues it would have been a perfectly fine program.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
