I have used H&R Block Premium for years and have always found it easy to use. This year, however, I had a major problem with it that consumed most of a day. The problem with the software is that it does not allow the user, in all instances, to learn where figures generated by the program come from. I finally figured out the problem in my case after around 8 hours. If the program had told me where the figures came from, it would have taken a few minutes. I sought help by chat and on the phone from H&R Block and therefore am confident that this is a problem with the software.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

good except for state acceptance features

I get two copies in the mail for many years but get more picky each year....what your program does not feature is an acceptance proof ID or what ever of the CT state return to view and print out as it does for the federal return. See for yourself. When you hit "Next" after the federal details it goes straight to the Credit Card payment page....

In general, the program worked well and is intuitive. But, it tends to fall apart when there is something complicated. For example, It is very difficult to calculate the foreign tax credit. It basically just prompts you to fill out the form 1116 yourself.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Hard to prepare

As with any other company out there that is in bed with the IRS i will only give you middle ground scores. The IRS has over stepped its boundaries and you are one of many that gave taken advantage of the non business population
