Imported rental income automatically but interview then had me input 1099 Misc for property management company duplicating rent income.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare

Been using HRB tax software for years. I am not an accountant and have a condo in Mexico which I occasionally rent so I have special tax issues. HRB always loads in the previous years return with the depreciation tables, investment history, etc and downloads Schwab brokerage information, making my input pretty easy. It takes the pain out of doing taxes.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

The software does reasonably well with the Federal return. However, there should be more intelligence applied to the State return. Example: Medical expenses which are of no consequence on the Federal return, but deductable in the State return. -

We chose TaxCut (now H&R Block) over TurboTax years ago because it better handled tax filing complexties brought on by multiple employers, more than one home office, sole proprietorship income and others. However, every year it always seems to "be something" that causes a bump in the road. This year, for example, we were unable to e-file until completing a field on an IRS form (2210) that we weren't even required to file!
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
