Does a good job considering my taxes are complicated. Does take me to an accuracy review that is sometimes confusing, but with a little help from Google I figure it out.

Federal software is GREAT. State software is BAD!!

The federal part is GREAT. The state portion is TERRIBLE. CA state forms are incomplete, no interview questions and the forms are all incorrect. I had to pay CPA to re-do my state. HORRIBLE
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare

program worked very well except for Estate income

Most features worked very well; however, I had received during 2019 an Estate K-1 form reporting a small amount of income from an inheritance. Even after I upgraded the H&R Block software to a higher version that I thought should be able to deal with income from Estates, it couldn't completely handle the K-1 form information, so I then had to do a lot of extra research on my own using absurdly complicated instructions and flowcharts from the IRS, and then manually enter values on different forms in the program in order to get everything to be properly reported.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

Good, easy to use. Used for many years. Had an odd thing happen this year. Passed Accuracy review but when submitted was rejected by IRS due to an incorrect Business Expense. Fixed it, resubmitted but confused why incorrect Expense couldn't have been fixed during input. Good for Self Employment and Investments.

Cons: Time consuming

Getting better each year

The more years I use it the more I notice improvements. I've also become more familiar with navigating the software. But there are still frustrating items that don't have clear explainations unless you're a tax consultant. When no answers are available, even in the IRS instructions, the app's help is useless. And not worth paying for the help service because they just read the IRS instructions and can't answer your question. Some business expences don't have a clear place or line to enter on, and the software does not help in that regard.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
