The basics are still the same and helpful, but

The basic process is still the same and helpful. However, the details of lacking. For example, there has been a rapid increase in high-deducible health plans, and instead of the software walking you through the right questions to determine your tax status for a health savings account (HSA), it just says go find IRS form 8889, fill it out and insert line 6 back into the software. There were similar situations where in the past the software walked you through the process, so I would say the quality is steadily decreasing over time.
Cons: Hard to prepare
Pros: Easy to install, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast

Flows good, does not hang up, and has good help tips. There are a few improvements that could be made, like the "Not For Filing" printout is offset left and hard to read in 3 ring binder.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

Use Taxcut every year for last few years. Did 2 returns, all federal and state was easy, well refined software, had no problems or challenges. Investment, interest, and schedule C, schedule A was all easy to do. When I had questions, the answers were in the help system. Took 3 days (few hours each day) to do all taxes, but 1.5 of that was local. Not too bad.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare

I've used this program for years. I wish it helped explain Farm vs Sch C though.

Issues that need to be addressed:
1. Deduction pro extremely slow to load up and use.
2. Making deductions, Your Own Value page, Description field does not allow enough room to enter all that was donated
3. After using deduction pro, my amount and date info doesn't show on the Used Clothing and Household Items page.
