H & R Premium Software package let me easily prepare and file my tax return. My return was a bit complicated with pension, business, interest and IRA income as well as the deductions involved. I have been a returning customer for about 7 years.

Cumbersome to use with instructions that do not match up with the screen. At times I just went around in circles, should have gone back to the other guys

This is the 8th year that I have used H&R Block software for my annual tax filing and I have been very happy with the software overall. This year I had some issues with a section where I had sold a rental property. I didn't feel that the questionaire and related topics were useful. The instructions said to do another section first and fill in the amount in the first section, but there was no link to, nor easy search for, the recommended section. Also, it was not clear weather previous year's depreciation was being properly applied. At one point, the instructions said, "Speak with your tax expert..." But I don't utilize a tax expert, I use H&R Block. So that part was frustrating. Otherwise, straight forward.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast

We have been using H&R Block software to file our Self-employed taxes for about 5 years now. This program makes filing your taxes a piece of cake! It walks you through every line of the returns, and asks simple to understand questions to help you make the right decisions for your filing. Plus, the program does the math for you, so you know you will not make any clerical errors in the process. With this program, my husband and I feel competent to file our taxes on our own, without getting anyone else involved.
