Have used HR Block Tax Software for years, but it seems every year at least one bug in the program causes a need to seek help with online chat or via phone. Enough to cause frustration and time loss and rate at 4 starts.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to install, Maximizes refund, Easy to import
I gave the program a 4 because form 4136 Credit for Federal tax Paid on Fuels. is not in the program so I cannot E file. It seems as tho this would be a common business form.
Mixed my IRA distribution with another retirement account payment. Totally ignored my K-1 download. Didn't let me see the final 1040 and other forms. Even the assessment is a bit much. I'd appreciate a refund!
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare, Hard to import
I have been doing my own taxes fro over 20 years now with the help of HR Block. Not only my own taxes but my whole family, I've been asked to do my moms, in laws, not to mention sons, daughters. And with 5 free FED E files, it just easy.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
I have been using this program since 1993. I know taxes, so I usually go directly to forms. When there are tax law changes or someone doesn't know taxes well, the interview process will help you to understand and input the correct information. There have been a few frustrating glitches here and there, but overall, the program is an excellent choice for those of you who want to "do it yourself".
Cons: Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast

Used for years but could not get my tax returns accepted by IRS. I finally went to the HR Block Free and filled in same info again. No problems there. Should have saved my money
