Miscues galore

I've used H&R Block tax software for a number of years which indicates my general satisfaction. This year is an exception. It is loaded with miscues. I'll give a couple of examples. I am not an expert tax preparer nor am I fluent in their language or jargon. Therefore I use the "interview" in completing the forms. When I ran into questions as to what was required and sought answers and then tried to return to the spot of interruption I was returned to the beginning not where I had been. This required a number of clicks to get where I had been. The final flaw was when I was informed in a final review I had cleared all errors and could proceed to file my forms with the IRS. I selected e-file. I was immediately hit with two more errors! Without a thing I went from error free to "must correct errors". How can that be? You can imagine my consternation.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

1)the fact that it loads your id information from last year as well as anticipating your various sources of earnings and expenses saves a lot of time and inaccuracy.
2) the download and update process seems to have improved and become more seamless.
3) the state process was a 'breeze'. I just have to make sure I know where my property tax bill is to enter the property id.

Very long ago, I'd say until 2005, I filed with HRBlock's big competitor. I don't recall why I switched back then, but I know that I never regretted it.
