Used H&R Block software for the past three years. They make it easy as personal information is updated and last year’s tax information is handy. It’s a lot cheaper and quicker than when we used a preparer.

Struggled on Mac OS Catalina. Used this software for years but this year was difficult. Trouble updating and the state wouldn't load for free. Had to call in and get it sorted out. Staff was helpful but it was a pain.

I have used HR Block tax software for over 20 years. As they simplify the use of the program they seem to have maintained the ability of the taxpayer to use their question-answer format or jump to an area to add/correct information.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

A complete product, however if you trade a lot of stocks or options you need to go through every trade to confirm or you get the pesky Data Authentication "errors", which you can by-pass but they remain as I said pesky, making you wonder. You can't even clear them by viewing on the form, you need to go through the edit part of the data which is WAY WAY cumbersome.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

Great Software but Font is really Small

I use to use Turbo Tax then I switched to H&R Block because I like it so much better. The only problem I have, which is a big one - is that the font is really small and there is no way to make it bigger. When you are trying to type in numbers accurately it helps to be able to see them. I would give them 5 stars if they came up with a way to enlarge the screen or at least the numbers.
