This software helped my wife and I with a fairly complicated self employment art business. We file jointly and we find that ithis program covers both of our occupations very thoroughly. It fits our lifestyle too as we are DIY people and Tax Cut gives us the confidence that we got our taxes done right and for a very modest expense.
This software was more confusing and less visuallt appealing/easy to navigate than TurboTax. While I feel confident my taxes were done correctly, it was not as intuitive as I would have liked and I struggled with how to answer done questions.
I've used this product for the past 20+ years. Each year it gets better and seems to address the minor / few deficiencies I may have noticed the prior year. One minor deficiency this year is the federal reporting of lottery winnings offset by documented lottery losses. I couldn't readily see why this income was not being offset by the losses. After searching the H&R Help feature, I learned the lottery income is ONLY offset if I were to itemize. It would have been helpful to have that stated directly in the entry point of the software. Maybe next year. Otherwise, nothing major with this excellent program.
