Too many questions lacking meaningful descriptions. The tax code is way too complicated and clearly favors special breaks to the lobbyists and special interest groups. Each year is more painful than the last. I've done my own taxes for over 60 years in 3 different states and can't believe that for 40 of those years I didn't require software! The Fed software also doesn't hint what's best to do with Schedules A and C to optimize State - resulting in overfilling Fed details of little or no benefit to State. I think the navigation has improved significantly, but there is still too much flailing around when trying to reference different forms and/or worksheets. Tear-off and pin or tabbed display would help with this. Overall, other than the pricing (especially high state filing fee) and the nickel-dimeing for some special small business forms, the product is an acceptable alternative to others.

This was the least friendly H&R Block I have ever used. Even with that the last four years I have been required to pay state taxes in New Mexico because your program does not include an adjustment for taxes on gross small business sales . I’ve had to pay back $4000 or so to the state after the fact.

Generally easy to use and accurate.
Importation of Ameritrade and Vanguard statements is very helpful.
1116 isn't accurate when there are any negative stock sales, and the 1116 AMT form is a puzzle.
K-1's have not been user friendly. We've solved the issue by avoiding investments that report in this manner.
There was a long queue for online chat for a problem I was having, but it was worth the wait. Excellent knowledgeable service. I think her name was Jenny. I was even able to upload the return to her, which allowed her to quickly determine the problem and direct me to a successful solution.

We’ve been HRB tax prep sw customers for many seasons, and this year we rented our home out and did inde consulting work, both for the first time. The premium package had modules for rentals and small biz, really useful for expenses, depreciations, etc. I didn’t need to worry about tax prep of 2019 with HRB after all!
