I've been using the H&R Block Premium with Self-Employment and Rental for over a decade. The self-employment and rental guides makes things easy to remember and fill out. It has been very reliable in helping me get the maximum refund year after year.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
Easy to use and accurate. Peace of mind. Just open everything and you can’t go wrong. My wife and I (she has a small business), have been using this software for years. Love it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Less expensive that TurboTax

The primary benefit of this program is it is way cheaper that TurboTax to do the same things. However, the 2019 H&R Block Premium Tax software had some issues. I have been using H&R Block tax software for many years and mostly it has worked well. This year's software had some bugs that caused the program to crash when I tried to delete entries. Also some parts were confusing such as when I was entering Partnership data--the terminology and instructions were not clear and did not mimic the IRS tax forms in a manner that was easy to follow. The tax calculations are not transparent so you cannot check if the software is accurate or not or if you made a data entry error. When attempting to import last years tax documents it acted like they imported successfully, but they actually did not import at all, and eventually as I figured this out and then manually imported the documents it overwrote everything I had entered for this year, so I had to start over. Overall, It is not very user friendly as navigation to specific areas is not very direct and sometimes you have to go through multiple screens you do not need to get to the one you do need.
Easy to use - I have been using for past 20+ years!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Saving Files in PDF Format is Lacking
on March 5, 2020

The inability to print combined federal and state files in pdf format with all supporting forms is very disappointing. Having to save the federal and state files separately and then use another third party program to combine the files is very time consuming, especially if you have multiple state returns.
