I have always used H&R program, even when it was called Taxcut, to do my taxes. It's easy and user friendly. I used to do my friends taxes in Chicago before I moved to LA. They bought the program I suggested and now they do their own as well as their families. I love that I'm able to use the same program for my family as well. We're able to save money and I can take my time completing our taxes. Thank you
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
Even with the premium version, as soon as things start getting a little complicated, the default action of the software is to tell you which form you need to get from somewhere and fill it out yourself - without ANY assistance from the software - and plug in the numbers. And after running the error check at the end, it MISSES key errors that cause your return to get rejected, forcing you go back in and manually find the problem and fix it yourself. Probably time for Turbo Tax.
After years of trusting this software, it fell way short this year and delivered untrustworthy results. Support has been underwhelming and I am looking at hiring a last minute accountant to figure out their mess.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The s/w would not connect to H&R Block's server despite extensive troubleshooting. "Help" only suggested what I had already tried. Had to print and file my returns.
