Failure to notify of card fee; taxes doubled

I have used H&R Block's software for 3 years. The first two years were fine. This year, despite having more deductions, the taxes owed were DOUBLE last year. Income was the same. And they said I UNDERPAID LAST YEAR--but I used their software. And I'm honest. So what's up? Also, I selected the pay with credit card option, but the program failed to mention that there was a 1.98% interest fee for credit card payments! That meant I had to get help to find out how to select a different payment option. When I tried to search for what I was looking for, none of the help topics were available (e.g., "Credit card" when trying to find payment option information in the program).
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare

Not so good this year

Did not import my taxes correctly from last years which threw off calculations. Did not file electronically correctly first time. Delayed return 1 week. Did not depreciate one of my rentals correctly. Had to accept lower number. Just not a good version this year.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to import
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Fast

New Feature Let Down

Being a long time HR Block user I was excited when I got this years HR Block Premium issue and saw that it had the Ohio School District Income Tax filing included. Doing it by hand and mail was an issue last year and thought the new feature would be nice. Not so quick, upon a final review after filing I found out that the program did not take into account payroll withholdings from W-2 information that was posted in the interview section of the program. I now have to file an amended return with the state and mess around with them. How Sad.
Overall I do enjoy the product as much as one can preparing their taxes and will use again next year.

Your schedule C software has a major flaw

Your schedule C has a major flaw. See case numbers 15969954 and RES39772543. I request a full refund, plus compensation for the lost hours I wasted trying to get this defective product to work.

Not as helpful as I needed

Product sold as best for folks with rental products, yet the guidance is very limited and the reference to help is very convoluted. You have to go to search, enter the term they mentioned, then hope it is there to match to - business asset sold was not there - rather it was worded differently. really offers very little help or explanation. I slogged through but not confident the return is correct.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to install
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The software is fairly easy to use. It is more difficult to figure out how best to go back to make changes to previous screens. I have used the product for several years now so I have figure out how to navigate the program fairly well.
