The software is easy to use and has interviews to guide you. Then when you are done you can do an accuracy check. If you use it every year you can import your prior year tax return to guide you and save time. Tax professional are not going to take the time to find the extra deductions the software will guide you to.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents

OK with product until time to print. Could not avoid printing schedules 1-6 even when they had no information on them. Didn't have to submit them-why print them?
Pros: Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Have been using this H&R Block software for more than 10 years. Need to have quick path for more experienced users to upload financial trading information, and input and update various stock transactions, and correctly identify the option such as sold put where sell date is before the buy back or expire date.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!

Missing Forms

I already wrote a review about issues that I had with this program, but I just found another. When calculating Estimated Tax Payments. as far as I can see, you do not have all of the forms needed to properly do these calculations. One of those forms, the Taxable SS Worksheet, is to calculate the amount of taxable Social Security, along with proposed deductions, whether itemized or standard. What this means is that for another year I will have to print out and calculate those numbers without the help of the tax program. Senior's also pay estimated taxes. It's not just for people in business, or self employed. I like to keep what ever little interest I receive in my pocket, not the pocket of the IRS. Finally, while the estimated tax calculations on your program maybe fairly close based on this year's return, there are other considerations that need to be taken into account. For example, Projection estimates on COLA on pensions, and Social Security, which was fairly large, though not large enough, this year, as well as the potential for a spouse to start receiving SS or spousal benefits, which changes things in a huge way. I had a CPA calculate our estimated taxes last year and I could tell they were way off and didn't take into consideration any of the new upcoming tax laws. As it is, we overpaid this year, but I recalculated it in June and reduced the amount for the 2 remaining quarters. I also am not sure that the way the forms work for the addition of a spouse receiving SS is calculating the taxable amount correctly. In doing some projections for possible additional SS from the addition of a spouse, the estimated taxes jumped significantly (doubled) while the pension only increased by about 40 dollars a month. The SS benefit is about half of the other spouse. The income grows, but not through the pension, so I am not sure that those numbers are being calculated correctly. This is another reason I would like to see more forms involving taxable Social Security calculations that will transfer into the estimated tax calculations. I hope you will review this and considered it for next tax year.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming
