straightforward and easy to use

Basic form was easy to use. However, I was unable to calculate estimated tax for next year and print vouchers for estimated payments. I couldn't find an option in the planning section of the software to input retirement and Social Security income. I had the same problem last year and had to download from IRS and calculate for myself.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Poor handling of multiple state returns

The New York non resident forms were almost unusable. (NY share the blame for poor form design and wording. The program only imports NR state to the resident state return so all the credits for taxes paid to other states need to be entered by hand. Probably good for simple returns, but if you have anything unusual be prepared to spent a lot of time in the for view to verify items are entered accurately.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

Perfect for my needs

I purchased H&R Block Premium because it included all the forms I need for my W-2 and 1099 income without charging additional for features I don't need (like other tax prep software companies). The price is attractive and I found the software easy to use.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

Taxes a little complicated, but I did them while watching a movie and doing two or three other things. Other words, took no thought on my part. Thanks much. Much better than other software I bought accidentally one year. Yes, for a KC company. I just have to stop second guessing you guys.

Accuracy Review of Michigan Tax

On my initial Michhigan State Tax Return, I failed to mark the boxes in A for Part 2 of the Pension Schedule (Form 4884), and I failed to enter my pension amounts in the box F. I file this State return. My Michigan refund was lower than prior years (
$1900), and during a review I discoverd my error. I am filing an amended State return. My iniial error was not discovered by your "Accuracy Review."
