This year's offering was better than ever and still available at a good price. However, the software continues to report erroneous audit risks when there are none and also flags some data fields as blank when they are already prefilled, making you drill down to edit them to clear the flag.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

I sold my investment condo in 2024 and relied on this software to report my tax and was quite disappointed. The information was not clear especially on the cost basis of my condo. The explanations and Q&A were totally useless. There were also a few mistakes (should not be any) made by the software and I ended up need to do them manually. Something similar happened to other parts of the software (mistakes, confusion information or errors, double booking,....) . I did not encounter any of these in the past years and it made me wonder management issues with H R&Block software team or cut corners due to budget reduction.

Software worked well most of the time. The biggest quirks that was strange dealt with printing the forms as well as submitting mail-in returns. Whenever I tried to print the forms for filing, but also added some supporting worksheets, it would not print out the forms for filing. In fact, it would explicitly say "not for filing" on every page! Why couldn't it print the forms for filing and also include the supporting worksheets? I had to print the worksheets separately, but wasted some paper learning this the hard way. Also, it was not the easiest process to file by mail. The software seems slanted on "forcing" me to file electronically, when I wanted to file by mail. It kept taking me to the tab to file electronically and did not explicitly provide me the option to file by mail as in the past. Hence only 4 starts

This years version is worse and more frustrating. Instead of leading me thru all the Q&A so I could know that everything had been considered and checked, your software required me to "go to" forms. As if I would know which forms without alot fo extra work looking things up. Work that your software used to do for me. That's why I got the premium version for my pass thru business. So this year your software was more expensive and less helpful and more frustrating. I will be looking into other software for next year even though I'd been a happy HR customer for over a decade.

Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
