I live in a state with no income tax but work in a state that has one. So I bought the fed and state program thinking I would be all set. It was not until I finished the federal portion and tried to download the state one that I was told "You can't prepare a nonresident Vermont tax return using this program." Next year I won't bother buying the state box if I buy this program again at all.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import, Fast
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've used H&R Block Tax Software of over a decade. It isn't all flashy & hip like the other guys software but it is as solid & trustworthy as if I was going to a Brick & Mortar store. Thanks for only getting better over the years.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast

As noted above , I need to file in R.I. Then MA as we work in R.I and live in MA. This years MA return lacked bringing the R.I. tax paid to MA ( taxes paid to other jurisdictions) over to MA return. Had to research and find new MA "schedule OJC" and input the amounts myself. The sched OJC had to be "over ridden" to be able to input the data. Please fix for next year, this was a Schedule PIA.

Easy to use but could use less re-entry requests

I buy H&R Block Deluxe every year and like the auto transport feature that draws all info from previous year so that all I have to do is change the numbers if necessary. I find the program easy to use and appreciate the fact that there is little new learning required because of prior use. The one change I would like to see made is to eliminate the need to reentry information, once should be enough. This is particularly true of the bank routing and account numbers. Further, it should be requested up front for Federal and carried over automatically to state, and this is true of driver license information as well.

I've been using the H&R Block program for years. It's convenient, the instructions are easy to follow, the end result is accurate, and it's much less expensive than going to a tax preparer. What's not to like?
