Technical Help Was Very Helpful

I have been using H-R Block tax preparation software long before H-R took over TaxCut tax prep software. Virtually, every time I used them, I generally did not encounter insurmountable probs or issues. The other day, I did, and after about 6 or 7 do loop self-trials, I called H-R tech support, and it less than 15 minutes the tech was able to pinpoint my problem and how to resolve it by going to "hidden forms" to see if my data was in the right fields. Many thanks and appreciation for such quick resolution of my vexing and frustration situation.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast

Flaws in software and no N.C. software offered

This is probably the 3rd year I've used your software and the 1st year I've had so many problems. First of all I put in my income right off my w-2 and the program put in another number! Second, we've not contributed to a Roth fund since 1986 yet the program kept telling me I needed to put in my amount paid into that Roth Fund. Third, the software didn't like the fact that my job paid so little (less than $2,000) so I chose to not have state taxes taken out. Software kept going back to the $0 amount I had in that column. Forth, I tried to purchase North Carolina software so I could do my State taxes and North Carolina wasn't on the list so I've got to go out and purchase and install N.C. tax software to finish my taxes. Oh, I almost forgot. We were going to have our refund direct deposited....but the software kept changing our account number. When we put in 1 (ok) then 8 (software deleted the 8) so I stopped and had my return mailed to me in a check. This sounds like my check was going to go into someone else's account! Didn't trust this. I don't know what I'll do next year because this year was a nightmare!

Pros: Easy to install, Easy to import, Fast
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Problem with file match during update, had to delete hidden file in Windows 10 before doing update

Easy to use with good instructions

I have used H&R Block products for 10 years and have been very happy. In that period I have transitioned through retirement and the purchase of a second house. The program has handled all the changes in my tax situation with ease. My only complaint is that it often crashes on my mac system. This happens if I open the application the application and then look for my tax file and when the system is updating. If I open by clicking on my tax file that then opens the program the crashes do not seem to happen.

The whole process is excellent and easy to enter all the required data with one exception. Entering the routing identifier code and account number for the rare occasion is a complex and confusing process. Need to have the entry of that info on the go to menu. Took me too long again this year and then got it wrong and federal return had resulting error.

Some consistent problems

Can't print an arbitrary page (like income summary...very useful). Audit probability assessment is just plain wrong year after year. Claims that one (of several possibilities) apply and they don't.

I am a retired software designer and find the sequencing of screens very natural. I like the way the prior year data is included. Good work.
